Happy March all. If you're looking for a random holiday to celebrate Pi day is March 14th. And don't forget the Ides of March on the 15th or St. Patrick's Day on the 17th.
Okay, back to business. The 1st Wednesday of every month is:
Thank you Alex J. Cavenaugh for hosting this bloghop and for being such a support in the writing community. If you want to join, sign up here.
This is my new favorite quote. Keep aiming:D
Peggy Eddleman posted about two writers that could use our support and I'm so glad she did. She goes into more details here.
I've found that when I'm struggling, helping other people is the best way to get out of a slump, so lets give these writers some love as their books launch and they're unable to promote their own work.
Chad Morris.
His book, THE INVENTOR'S SECRET, released yesterday, but he had to cancel his tour because his daughter had a brain tumor removed last week and she's recovering in the hospital. Fake mustache's cheer her up, so consider sending a picture of you with one to the hashtag #mustachesformaddie.
You can learn more about him here.
Bridget Zinn's POISON releases on the 12th. She passed away of colon cancer May of 2011. Her story is so sweet and sad. She was young and newly married and a librarian (so one of my favorite people on the planet). You can find details here. And her book looks amazing, guys.
I love that quote so much too. I need to print it and hang it up. Thanks for spreading the love and encouraging people to support Chad and Bridget (and their books). Their stories are incredibly inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! I'm planning on hanging it up as well. And Chad-I hope that best for his daughter. My nephew went through the same thing at Primary Children's. It was a really rough time.
DeleteThanks for sharing that quote. I love it. And these stories just make me grateful for everything I have going right in my life. They are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh, btw, I joined IWSG this month!
I am SO glad you joined IWSG-I love being a part of this group, even knew there's no way I could hit ALL the posts. I think all writers are insecure, we're just not all willing to admit it:D
Delete:) We must have been all receiving the same waves. Yes, these things help push life back into prespective. Glad to see you've put them up!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm seeing Chad and Bridget up a lot today and I'm SO glad others are reaching out to them/for them. I hope it helps!
DeleteI was so saddened when I read Bridget's story. Her book does sound amazing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am praying for Chad and Shelly's little girl.
I'm sure your prayers are appreciated and felt. Bridget's story is sad. I can't wait to read both of these books.
DeleteThat quote is amazing! I'm totally saving that somewhere!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad. When I read it the first time it shook my world a bit and helped me get back on course. I wish I knew who said it first.
DeleteGreat, great quote! I'm glad to see all of the support our fellow bloggers are putting out there for both of these causes.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by -and isn't all this love amazing. I hope it really does help them. And the quote, I really believe it. I've seen it many times in my life and that of my friends and family. I just hadn't put it in that context before.
DeleteI'd heard about Chad Morris and his daughter. I can't imagine how hard that must be to go through. Does look like a fun book to read with the kidos.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about Bridget Zinn. That's really sad. I've heard a lot of good things about Poison and am looking forward to reading it.
I'm glad you learned about Bridget Zinn. I can't wait for Poison to come next week. Her agent has the sweetest post about her with a video of Bridget. It made me cry.
DeleteThanks for sharing this. I need to do a post for Chad/Bridget soon too.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a great quote! Pinning it now!
I'm glad the quote was inspiring to you as well. And yes, Chad and Bridget can use all the support they can get. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI adore that quote - it's my new favorite, too, and I'll try to keep aiming!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of your news is so tragic, but you handled it gracefully. Thanks for spreading the word to get these people (and their families) the support they need. :-)
Glad this quote touched you as well. Eye on the target. And thank you for your care for Josh and Bridget. POISON is out tomorrow:)
DeleteI've been seeing so many do posts about the 2 authors above. It's great to see so many supportive people in the writing blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteGosh I love that quote! I need to remember that always. Hope you're doing fab, Robin!!
ReplyDeleteI am doing fab:D Thanks PK. Hope you are as well. That quote has helped me so much. I might be going backwards, but I'm keeping my eye on the target!
DeleteLove that you supported those two authors. Thanks for sharing.

Co-host, A to Z Challenge 2013
So agree that these are great books to support. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteI needed that quote today!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of IWSG and love reading the posts. I just wish my positive posts I write wouldn't come to me at the wrong times. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that quote, too, by the way! :)
You might also be interested In a little group called #writemotivation. We cheer each other on over on Twitter, and sometimes we have blog posts to help too. Since I am writing my first draft of my first novel, I need some cheering and they are a great group, too.
One word = progress
Zero words = stagnation
Deleting words = regression
Don’t regret, progress.
I have to keep reminding myself this with my first draft of my first novel.
I'm stopping by today from the A to Z challenge. Congrats on signing up! Good luck. This is my first year with the A to Z challenge, even though I've watched it grow over the last 3 years. I'm also taking part in the Reveal on the 21st. I'm trying to share some positivity with my #WriteMotivation friends on Twitter (and to help keep me positive in the process)
Hope to see you around, on my blog or on Twitter, or both :)
